When we create a new game we always like to think about every little detail that surrounds it, as the universe that it’s based in. No matter if it’s a simple game or not, at Herding Cats we always try to give to our games the necessary depth to create content beyond the actual gameplay.
That’s how we started working in merchandising as the backbone for our products promotion. Our studio is characterized by the developing of casual and cute gaming content, and we thought that the merchandise had to go in the same direction.
Being a small studio, our goal has never been producing large-scale merchandising, we have been focused on high quality products that would help our users to understand who we are. That’s why we start working with the talented artist Pussie Toys, who created a line of soft toys for the main characters of our games.
We started to giveaway plushes amongst our followers on social media, in exchange for helping us to share our games, and the result couldn’t be better. The competitions attracted the attention of our users and we saw how their loyalty towards Herding Cats has increased.
